Best computer speakers with at least 150w to the sub. - Page 3

Just because the sub says 150W you ain't getting the entire 150W, you're probably getting 50W RMS.

Honestly, a decent sub cannot be found under $200 and I'm being modest.

THIS ^^

That alone breaks your budget though. You're not going to be able to piss the neighbors off w/ 400$. Period.

Something like these:

Amazon.com: M-Audio Studiophile AV 40 Powered Speakers: Electronics

or
Amazon.com: M-Audio Studiophile BX5a Deluxe - Left / right channel speakers - 70 Watt - 2-way: Electronics

plus

Amazon.com: Dayton SUB-120 HT Series 12" 150 Watt Powered Subwoofer: Electronics

Honestly though if you want everyone to feel your music you're going to have to spend more than your budget on just the sub.

greatly confused with how this works. I have the standard little green output thing 3.5 mm audio jack. I dont understand how id get all the speakers and the subs to work with my computer.

Here's how I'd do it. Take a 3.5mm splitter cable. Male end goes into your stereo out on your computer. One female end goes to the bookshelf speakers (3.5mm cable for AV40s, BX5a gets a little more complicated because it uses XLR cables), other end goes to the sub using a 3.5mm-RCA cable.

You can also plug the bookshelf speakers straight into the 3.5mm jack, and plug the sub into the sub/center jack using the same 3.5mm-RCA cable.
