1tb hard drive
amd phenom II 975
coolit eco liquid cooling
amd hd 6970...

i just want to know how to overclock the cpu in bios.
if someone could walk me through step by step that would be awsome thanks.

Overclocking is a snap. Simply enter your BIOS, enter the tab marked "Ai Tweaker" and begin playing with numbers.

Since you're on a BE chip, the easiest method for you will be to simply pump up the "CPU ratio" numbers and the CPU Voltage. Depending on how much patience and time you have, you can either calculate the overclock you want to achieve and try to jump right to it (the final value will be 200 x CPU-Ratio, so for example for 3600Mhz that'd be a CPU-Ratio of 200 x 18) with a reasonably high voltage like 1.45V and then back down the voltage to the lowest stable value, or you can slowly keep moving your overclock and voltage up, testing and retesting at each stage to find the highest stable overclock.

Don't forget that 1.5V for the CPU is usually the maximum you should subject your CPU to or risk harming it, and the lower the better (I'm currently running at 1.375V on my OC). Download HWMonitor to keep an eye on your temperatures once you boot into windows, try to keep them below 55C under load (many people load their CPU using a program called Prime95 to test for stability).

There are a number of good generic overclockin guides on OCN, that's just the quickie intro I threw at you.
Not super up to date, but if you want to get more advanced I'd read through all the good info posted all over the boards, centralized here:

Start with whatever you're comfortable with. The stock CPU Ratio for your chip is 18.0 and I believe the steps go in increments of .5

I like round numbers myself, so I'd start with something like 4.0GHz, which would be a simple 20.0 CPU Ratio (x 200) and run some stability and heat tests. I've heard people claim numbers upwards of 4.3GHz (21.5 Ratio) at 1.475V, but every chip is different, for better or worse.

What stability test? If Prime95, people tend to run it for 12+ hours.

What voltage are you using ?

Also you need to test more then 5 min. 12h prime95 or 50 runs LinX on max.

You're gonna need more than 5 mins to determine stability. What program are you using to stress test? If I were you I would start at 4.0GHz test for stability while monitoring temps and voltage. If all is good and I had headroom I would try to go higher.
