I have a gainward gtx 470, bougt in may 2010, and since january this year when i first noticed it, i have a verry similar issue to what HyperBCS mentioned.

It happens when the cursor changes very fast from one shape to another. For example like HyperBCS said, when moving the cursor over a link, the cursor changes from arrow to hand, but if i move it very fast i get the distorted pixelated and enlarged version of either a hand or an arrow, and looks like it has a lover color depth than the rest of the screen, for a fraction of a second. Or if moving the mouse rapidly around the edge of an window the cursor changes from arrow to resizing horizontal arrows.

i uploaded a video to show how this looks like, but, i made it with a phone camera and it looks quite bad, but you should still notice how the cursor artifacts. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOTBljixmEw[/ame]

I tried to do a lot of things to solve this, but nothing worked:
-installed the latest dirvers
-uninstalled the latest drivers and installed the oldest ones for gtx 470
-did a fresh install of windows on a different hard drive and installed only the latest video drivers on it, nothing more.
-tried smaller display resolution

The only good thing that i noticed is that, after uninstalling the nvidia drivers, when the computer works on the generic microsoft driver the artifacting doesn't occur, but i thing that it doesn't use the gtx 470 memory while it's runing on the generic drivers.

There is another guy having a similar problem here but it seems that he has a more complicated issue http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=190768&st=0&p=1181721&hl=cursor&fromsearch=1entry1181721

So... isn't there anybody else experiencing this issue???

I noticed that it only happens in WIndows 7; there are no problems in Windows XP.

The only way i managed to solve this was to set the pionter scheme to none, and disable the cursor shadow, but it looks bad without the shadow, and not being the aero cursor....

I tried an old geforce 6600GT, instead of the gtx470, and it does the same artifacts in Windows 7. So i think the problem is related to the interaction between windows 7 and the nvidia drivers, or maybe some other hardware part of my pc is causing it...

What kind of mouse do you guys use? Just curious if low polling rate could be the issue.
