An interesting predicament!

Hello everyone -

Have an interesting problem that i'm hoping will not be as much of a challenge for someone else as it has been for me!

I'm on my sig rig (old school powahhhhh) and its stock hp pavilion f1903 monitor (also old school, still awesome)... Ive been playing lots of Minecraft on it lately (pretty much the only thing it will run, and at surprisingly good framerates - and thats with a horrible gfx card riddled with artifacts!)

After playing with no issues for a couple months, recently i've been running into an issue where when I enter Minecraft with my window maximized (no option for fullscreen) my monitor "goes to sleep". I try powering down my monitor and turning it back on.... but it still just goes straight into sleep mode.

This issue doesn't happen with any other window - although that really just means Firefox - and it only happens roughly every other power cycle of my computer - at most i've gone 4 restarts without this happening since the beginning. I've tried reinstalling gfx card and monitor drivers, as well as reinstalling minecraft, etc. to no avail.

Can anyone help me out here? I can live with it if its simply wearing out (it is 6 years old, and HEAVILY used...) but its more that theres a problem I havent been able to fix that irks me!

Much obliged for any help provided

S

That's what I'm thinking - the thing that really confuses me is that I can have Firefox open, browsing for hours with no issues. But the minute I open Minecraft, boom. no warning, it just goes to sleep! Weird....
