G Skill ECO 787/24 @1600 ? - Page 4

The RAM voltage bump from 1.6 to 1.65 probably wasn't necessary; the CPU-NB one probably did it.
As I said, only change one thing at a time.

Try changing RAM to 1T. Do it at 1.6V first of course; only use as much voltage as you need. This may improve your benchmarking results.

One thing's for sure, this new problem should definitely not be the RAM since bus clock is still at 200 and the RAM settings shouldn't have changed.

It might even be CPU instability - unless you have already tested at 3.5Ghz and a certain voltage and know it will work immediately.
The cpu ive had run fine at 3.6, even 3.8, just using the AUTO CPU up thing on the past just on stock volts. But im happy around 3.4 - 3.6

The cpu/nb i tested earlier to see how far it would go before i hit probs that was with everything on stock settings, i upped it one thing at a time, it booted last at 2800, when i upped it to 3000 I got a weird noise as pc booted so i stopped it. Never added any volts to it thogh I just wrote 2600 tops for now eventhough it booted at 2800

I lowered the dram volts to 1.62 and the command to 1, hasnt made too much odds to benchmark and WEI 7.6 which seems kinda low? As my previous corsair cheap 1333 999/24 got that, will I try bump the NB FReq up? Should I maybe first bump the cpu/nb volts up 1 more notch? And what about CPU volts? They are still on stock... Cheers oh and the cat is Arrfa Just going to drop the dramvolts down first.....

To add to my previous post, i went to bios, and upped the cpu multi by 1 to a 3.5 OC, I bumped cpu volts up 1 increment from stock setting. ran benchmark, lots better, then WEI got 7.7.

Then I thought id run SUPER PI the PC froze at loop 15, and had to hold power button to shutdown on restart a black screen again? So iam back to stock bios settings should I have NOT increased the CPU VOLTS or maybe increase them two notches from stock or something else? Dram volts? CPU?NB Volts another notch?

Thogt I was doing ok till then lol

WEI shouldn't be used as a benchmark to seriously compare the little tidbits
Use EVEREST/AIDA64 and MaxxMem
SuperPi 32M freezing may be CPU instability.... I have found that very small RAM or NB stability failures result in straight up failures but not freezes on SuperPi. SuperPi can be a good CPU clock tester too despite single threaded. Nevertheless I'd suggest upping the CPU-NB voltage as well.

No my bench results were better than the previous one I posted with aida nearly as high as the ripjaws got. I ran WEI to see if it moved from 7.6 iy had to 7.7, starts at 7.5.

I will go back and set bios same as beofr last crash but up the cpu/nb volts another notch thatll be 3 all told and one on the cpu volts, ifit then crashes i will go two on the cpu volts, and if it then crashes...well not there yet, will see... thanks BRB 6am now lol

Alright, good luck with that

Since I have the same ram kit, I thought I would give this a try also. My kit is stable at spec 7-8-7 24 2t @1.5v (board wont go lower).

I am not able to get 6-8-6 stable... yet. I have upped ram voltage to 1.56v but came up with errors in memtest86+. My nb is already bumped .1v (stock 1.2v).

Also xd 1771-

In you sig, what is the 20 in the 6-8-6-20-24-2?

cheers!

I got a pair recently. The sticker indicates that they were made in January of 2011. Unlike most of the pictures you see on the Eco models, mine came with black PCBs. I guess G. Skill decided to skip the green PCB. I'm a lot happier with mine because of this.
