Having issues with my Dell 3007 WFP-HC` - Page 2

So according to the NV CP it's saying native is 1280. not sure why. I could always try another dual link DVI cable and see if that makes a difference. Refresh rate should be the usual 60 Hz right?

Thanks for idea's guys. this is sad
Yeh it does say 1280x800 as native and 2560x1600 as recommend, refresh rate is 60Hz so you got that right. Anyway just try it with one monitor first, unplug your U2410 and using that DVI-I cable for the 3007 only, see if you still have the same problem.
Just curious where did you get your 3007 from? Local or getting from someone online?

It was local.. very nice guy. Came with his mother to meet me. Even went somewhere I could plug it in, and power it on. I brought my laptop to make sure it worked good first. He even asked, you want to try it out first right, not just turn it on. I said yes and went and got my laptop.. as it was booting the screen came right up on the 3007 and looked ok but obviously wasn't extremely clear, no lines or anything. thought it was just the resolution of my small laptop.

looks like I might be calling the guy in the morning.. not looking good. I do have a friend at dell so I'm also going to be looking into the service tag also for possible replacement.. it could be the DVI cable though. I'll get a new one tomorrow on my way home from work. it was a tight fit with his DVI that was included. maybe that could be it also.

THe 3007 WFP-HC is a wide gamut monitor, so images that display fine on your normal monitor will appear over saturated on your Dell.

You need to calibrate the display, preferably with a hardware calibrator such as a Spyder, color munki etc.

Applications that are ICC aware will display colours properly, Firefox for example allows for colour management by setting gfx.color_management.mode to 1

Try plugging it into the other port on your GPU. It's possible you have a GPU where one port works fine and the other one artifices. I've seen it happen before.

Try dropping the resolution too. If you have a bad cable then MAYBE reducing the bandwidth needed will make the problem go away - which also could be why it worked on your laptop at a lower res. But if it doesn't work then still try using a new cable.

If these don't fix it, try another GPU entirely.

And if that doesn't work, then the monitor is bad.

Thanks manyak, yea some don't read the post. I already have a wide gamut screen. lol.

I've tried both ports on my GTX 480, both same result. I've ran monitors off both ports before anyways so that isn't it. I've tried using a HDMI>DVI cable and that didn't work either. I could try another GPU but I can't imagine one monitor working on my 480 and another not.

Also if I lower the res to anything other than 2560x1600 the monitor wigs out and starts displaying tons of lines n stuff and then i can't see anything, after the 15 seconds "apply" time it goes back to the way it is now. Only works on main resolution, and the picture is how it looks. Things aren't looking good here.

sadness. any other idea's.

Got a refund thankfully.. I would have loved to keep the 3007 for the low price of $300 I paid.

xguntherc, did you already return the monitor?

If not, are you sure you are using a dual link DVI cable? I had the same issue at first w/ my U3011. Used a regular DVI cable and the picture looked fuzzy just like it is in yours. Switched to the included cable by Dell and bam, everything's crystal clear.
