Nixing my H50 getting an air cooler

Thread Starter
I just haven't been content with my H50 results (prayer and re-seating have not yielded better temp's) so I am getting rid of it and buying my first after market air-cooler I have narrowed my choices down to the following:

1. Thermaltake Frio (looks like a good performer on paper)
2. Noctua NH-U12P (not an admirer of the fan's color but it's supposed to quiet cooler and renders excellent temps)
3. CM 212 Plus (thinking of brand synergy since my case is a Cooler Master and it's performance exceeds it's modest pricing)
4. Spire TherMax Eclipse II (this seems to be the best combo of looks and performance. I like the fact that it has 8mm piping contact area vice the 6mm on the 212+)

While my case is not huge I don't think I should have an issue fitting any of these inside. I await your opinions.

If you're going to be OC'ing that CPU of yours. I would not really be looking at the CM 212+, though it's a good cooler. There is only so much that you can throw at it. But the NH-D14 would be something to look at if price is not an option here.

The Hyper 212+ is a great little cooler. On full load, my CPU used to go up to 65C-70C. Now on full load, I've yet to experience anything over 45C!!!! That is great, especially for the price. Now, I am running stock mind you, but I bet if I OC'd on it I would still yield great temps

Frio or NH-D14.

Frio is slightly louder but cools just as well.

Price is not an object for something like this... I was prepared to spend thrice as much on a water loop but just can't be hassled with it right now.

My H50 is maxing at 67c loaded at stock CPU speeds Yates Loon Mediums push pull

Then no doubt I'd recommend the NH-D14.

I considered it, but I don't want the anxiety of wondering if it will fit my case and that thing is ginormous.
