Hey guys im doing a build for a friend and can you guys comment on the parts im getting.

ASUS P8P67 pro $195ish from ncix What a bout gigabyte is that better?
(2) Geforce GTX480 Super OC 1536MB $456 after MIR from provantage
Antec 902 $100 from newegg
Intel i5 2500k $180 from microcenter
G.SKILL PI 4GB $79.99 from newegg
Noctua NHd14 $89.99 from newegg
power supply was thinking a corsair brand or whatever. 100 ish. the corsair ax series is rape!
dvd rom $20
1 ssd drive for windows and games. and 1 1tb drive.

The budget probably could go to 1600. Please advise on this build and tell me if i need anything else. I did a quick list and havent really went and dig for MIR or cheaper parts that are just as good. the case could definitely be cheaper imo. Basically the build is for gaming and he wants it nice and cool. Will it be possible to have 2ssd drives in raid 0 in my budget. thx in advance

If he does high OC on 2500k, probably go for H70 for extra $33. GTX480 is a 250w and draws a bit more in bench so need a solid psu can pull 70a on 12v for headroom.
Get a Gtx 570 or 6970 or 6950. Anything but the 480s which are still overpriced. 570s perform better in every situation. They just have an exploding issue. Look into 6950s or 6970s which are as good alternatives. If budget allows look into either a single or dual 580
Purchase either a Seasonic x750 or am xfx 850w or corsair hx850 or ax750 Seasonic x850. Pick whichever one you like out of those psus, as they are all top of the line and very high quality
Also purchase the xspc rasa rs 240. Which is a much better kit by far
If your friend has good headphones or a good speaker system and an audio junkie then by all means get something like an asus xonar or HT omega striker. If they aren't either than skip and stay with onboard sound

6gb is triple channel which doesn't work with p67 1155. Look at similar 4gb dual channel. Look at similar priced gskill Pi with 6-8-6 timings.

If you like the look of the case, keep it. If not and think it's ugly as hell, look into a corsair 650 for a midtower or a 700/800d for a fulltower or a Lian LI.

You can't SLI on the ASUS P8P67, only CF. Get the Pro, Evo or Deluxe version.

I've spent the last month mulling over parts for a new build. My budget was $1500 too. This is what I came up with.

Intel Core i7-2600K
P67 Mobo, either P8P67 Pro or The Gigabyte UD5
Western Digital Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" (EDIT: Going with the Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB now)
MSI N560GTX-TI Twin Frozr II/OC GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video
SeaSonic M12II 620 Bronze 620W ATX12V V2.3 / EPS 12V V2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply
Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound
Fatal1ty Pro Sound Card
Rasa RX360 Water Cooling Kit
EK VGA Water Block for 560 (soon to be released)

If anything, I'd highly suggest the power supply. Also, I don't know man... I'm waiting for the next gen of SSD's to come out before blowing my money on them. I think they can improve a lot more.

Also, screw the H50/H70. Get yourself the Rasa RX750 for $200. I got it on CrazyPC.com. You won't regret it. This H50/H70 crap is a polished turd.

You need to change alot of stuff here, first that p67 board dont support sli, get teh p67 pro from asus if u want sli, get an antec 902 , its better with dust filter and better air flow or an haf x, its awesome!
only 2 channel memory so either 4 or 8 g of memory
Get an corsair h 60 its near the performance of the h70 but not loud at all.
get an corsair ax 850

What crazy rasa kit did you buy?!!!! The rs 240 is more than enough for a CPU only loop and it costs $130!
Watercooling isn't hard just requires some maintenance is all. I'd recommend a better Seasonic for sli than just a bronze 650w, look at my suggestions. Also why the 2600k? It's good you recommend only the psu because most other parts I for agree with.

OP did you even read my improvements or anyone elses yet? If so update your original post as it's full of erroneous information.

Oh never mind yeah in that case just get 2 x 480s. Also if you're friend isn't too Uh tech savvy, then purchase a Noctua NHd14 and skip all this half way water cooling bull. Buy the best air cooler there is and guess what? Not only is it great for Overclocking to hell and back, it is also super quiet.

And again if they aren't an aduiophile get rid of that sound card.
