And again if they aren't an aduiophile get rid of that sound card.
Will the Noctua NHd14 fit into the antec 902?

2 GTX 480's is going to be very hot and very loud.2 GTX 460's is the best option-runs cool and more than sufficient for any game-unless he is planning on running 3D or 3 screens.ince there is only 1 SB mobo available at the minute,it's kind of hard to put together a complete build with maximum discounts(combo's etc.).Besides looks like you are in CA,so shipping can throw a real loop into a suggested build. Here is a rough list-obviously the mobo is wrong (for budget purposes I est. you will need about that much for a SLI SB board). The Noctua is what you want for a cooler,H70 is actually not as good a cooler and louder. It is a bit over-budget,but getting the CPU from Microcenter will absolve the difference.

The new Zalman case looks like a real good budget case

I'm at work and read too fast to see he wanted SLI.

I see that those GTX cards are made by Galaxy. I haven't bought a new VGA card in a while, but I'm always weary of buying from these new, unknown companies. Maybe look for something from a reputable company. Going name brand and getting two 460's wouldn't be bad either. Maybe you could afford two water blocks for it too if you wanted to go that route, but it doesn't sound like you do. For reading: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...0,2694-11.html

Go air cooling, or go water cooling and do it right. This H50/H70 is nice for a while, but you can't maintain it.

Quote:
What crazy rasa kit did you buy?!!!! The rs 240 is more than enough for a CPU only loop and it costs $130!
Calm down, geesh. Again, I'm reading fast because I'm at work. I missed that he wanted a CPU only loop. You're right, I'd recommend that if he just wanted a CPU loop. Anything over the H50/70 stuff.

Quote:
It's good you recommend only the psu because most other parts I for agree with.
If you noticed, I explained that this was my $1500 build. I was merely letting him see what I'm doing and suggesting a few things. 2600k or 2500k, whatever.
