Which Laptop ($450 or less)? NV50A02u vs L655-S5150

Currently I am trying to help a friend decide on a laptop with a budget of no greater than $450.

Here is what we have and she is closest to a Best Buy (likes Brick and Mortar due to convenience if she has hardware issues).

Which laptop do you guys suggest? She is looking to do everyday browsing, research, office, and maybe real light gaming (very light). Or do you think there is a better priced laptop and if so what (please post link)? Remember she doesn't want to spend more than $450 + tax.

Thanks.

I see two lappies in that link, and AMD & an Intel. Advantages for each one would be:
AMD:
*faster processor, 3 cores @2.1GHz ~similar to Athlon II X3
*larger HDD
*half decent IGP - some games should work
*cheaper
Intel
*longer battery life
*maybe something better on the soundcard (according to the specs)

If gaming is of importance the AMD laptop is the only choice as on the Intel most games don't work due to poor drivers. Any of them can do office/web; AMD's IGP can also accelerate some HD content although both CPUs are powerful enough to handle that foe themselves.

Thanks, I found no reason to send her to the Toshiba over the Gateway even though Toshiba is generally better quality. The specs in my opinion were just better on the Gateway.

I'd go with the Gateway smile.gif
