Look, I'm not saying this to piss anyone off just stating my opinion, which is:
this game looks way too contrived, like they were making another run of the mill crapsole rpg
straight from the assembly line approved by board of directors, as opposed to having innovative ideas for a game, just pile up a bunch of cliches: A dragon - check, characters with pissed off faces - check, impossible armor - check brown poo textures - check.

There's 0 innovation about this game.

its lost a lot of what made the original shine IMO. the story is still there, but the world is bland looking and i really don't like the over the top animations. sure, they're cleaner and faster than the original, but the mage really looks like she's dancing when she attacks...

also it seems to lack tactics. i'm going to wait for a while to see how the user reviews are and to see how the game drops in prcie. i will still get it though, but $60 is too much for me to pay on one game

I just wanna say 2 things. First off the game's name is Dragon Age so yeah there's gonna be dragons involved. Disappointed? Then don't play the game, who cares?

As for the game lacking tactics, sure if you choose to play the game on easy you won't need tactics that much, it's a fact. I'm fairly sure it'll be different if you play on hard.

by that i meant that it's seeming that the bosses are made harder by having lots more HP, and the hurlocks etc being a lot but being of the one hit kill variety. didn't come out as clearly as it had in my head

Wow, people are really focusing too much on the visuals. It doesnt look good, animations are too fast, armor and weapons arent realistic blah blah. Seriously, I dont think this is what you should be focusing on. The story and the actual gameplay, thats what you should focus on. All right, there might not be as many abilities ( perhaps 10 less for each class ), and there are no skills anymore, but the core mechanics are still there I think. And dont say its too easy and not tactical enough before you've tried the higher difficulty settings. Ive heard that you cant change your companions equipment, which sucks, and ive also heard that there is only one city in the game, which just sounds stupid if true. But overall I think the game, from what Ive read and seen in the demo, has improved.

But hey, none of us will really know if its better or worse than DA:O untill tomorrow, so really all your opinions are useless.

Think its a complete joke that even Asia get this game before Europe. Made me consider cancelling my pre-order when I found out yet again Europe gets shafted.
