5870 1GB/2GB vs the 6950s and 6970, what are the real pros/cons

the 5870 are are also DX11, and I assume shader model version 5.0 (like my 5670)

so what are the real differences in games

and newegg currently listed the sapphire 5870 2GB as

Was: $399.99
Now: $279.99

is that for real I wonder

5870 doesn't keep up in the Dx11 department otherwise it has great $/fps

But I think unless your running eyefinity, 1GB is fine, I mean I run eyefinity well with a single 1GB, which I see for 200$ or less

Yah it seems ati wasn't too happy when the nvidia cards came out and trounced the 5000's in stuff like tesselation so they brought out the 6000's. Apparently you can buy the 6950 and bios flash it to 6970 which is pretty awesome.

GTA IV is a game I'm looking forward to very soon when I get some new GPU

That game would love 2GB, and I have no plans to go eyefinity

I'm mainly thinking a 6850 CF, cause I could buy separately, one right after the other

Or a 6950 2GB in about a LONG LONG 45 days

and then get really serious when the 32nm cards come out.
