I need some advice/explanation :S

Thread Starter
I've got ATI Radeon HD 4550 Graphic Card core/memory 600/700 MHz
and I've used some of ur advices and managed to clock it to 815/845 MHz
with the GPUTool + MSI AfterBurner method.

but when I went to my friend (he uses nVIDIA GeForce 9500GT) and showed him how to overclock, besides the core/memory clocks he has the Shader Clock too.
Now, is that coz my card doesn't support it and his does ?
and what does it do ?

My second question is about DirectX

as I've seen my card supports DirectX 10.1 and shader model 4.1, but since I installed Win7 it's running on DirectX 11.
is it gonna decrees the performance or what ?

and last question about the drivers, I'm using 11.2 atm, and I haven't noticed any performance boost or decrees, what do you think are the best ones ?

thanks in advance

A. His has a shader option because Nvidia Cards have shaders, they are linked to the core clock speed (shaders are twice the speed of core clock speed always) - ati calls them stream processors, but does not give you the option of clocking them as they are automatically clocked.

B. Your card doesn't support DX11, it is running in 10.1

C. Use the latest drivers as long as they work for you and don't provide any crashes in the game, glitches, ect.

Windows 7 supports up to Dx11, everything is backwards compatible, E.g. you can use Dx9 set up in Dx11 enviroment.. honestly not too sure about earlier.. don't think any computer with a AGP or PCI video card would exist nor run windows 7 but never know.
