[Yahoo!]Forecast For Best Buy: Worst Is Yet to Come - Page 17

Not surprising at all, but rather than riding the bandwagon of wanting the store to disappear, I'd rather them realize that their prices and a lot of their selections are ridiculous.

I would want them to stick around to be competitive by lowering their prices, getting better products, and living to the store name. I always shop at Fry's or MicroCenter before even bothering with BB...the store doesn't provide a threat at all to these two in my area. I will only go there if the other two stores don't have what I need and I will have them price match that product...at least they're decent on this end in my area.

But being that they are still the largest electronics B&M chain in the nation, I feel they could really generate some price wars if only they realize how stupid their pricing scheme is. This will certainly benefit consumers more than having the store go down.

If it'll be anything like Circuit City's liquidation, don't even bother. THAT was terrible. Mark up everything back to MSRP prices then take 20-30% off from it so prices can be back to where they were before the liquidation?? No thanks. There are still idiots out there who will look at the percentages off and not realize that whatever they're buying can still be had cheaper elsewhere.

By the time when percentages off start getting respectable towards the end of the liquidation, most things you wanted will already be bought by those idiots at the higher price a couple weeks prior.

Our store was always the top in service for our region every month in our meetings mainly because I said screw there operating procedures and did things my own way.
Same here man. We did so much stuff our district manager would have KILLED me for at my CC. But we pumped out 12k a month in in home and hella more in store every month, in west texas. But thankfully the GS here was mostly the kinda of folks I woulda hired for my team at CC too.
