Ooh, I am so waiting for SWTOR too!
They implemented some very nice niche game mechanics!

Hope they'll release a bit more information about how the space combat will work out, as it stands now, it seems more like a mini game.

insane. never knew that.

i never liked/got into wow...probably one of the very few blizz games i thought was just utterly boring. but i would definitely expect them to deliver an awesome product in the same vein as wow. if its more pvp oriented and not such a grindfest i will probably be more interested in it. but i dont expect them to change a formula that has worked thus far. im sure ill give it a shot, regardless

Well, allegedly they will blow people's minds, so here's to hoping that they will go for a different formula than they used in WoW, perhaps that I just didn't get in WoW enough for it to open up more, I have no idea.

Blizzard have been saying this about this MMo for ages. Unique items, unique experiences etc etc. They've been talking about this for years now. Blizzard always puts out quality products but they need to stop hyping it and talking about it and just put some stuff out.

I'll be happy once theres a full 3D pokemon MMORPG <.<

I personally do not like WoW. I have plenty of friends who play it and when i did play it to try it out the community was horrible. It consist of mainly people who have never heard of MMO before WoW or even know that others exist so to them WoW is the god, they play because their friends play, and ect ect. Sheep will always be sheep, as simple as that. I agree with you 100%, i Bought counter strike 1.6 for 9$ and have been playing it for good 11 years now and still am and enjoying it, and i don't have to pay monthly fees for it. Just because a game has 12 million idiots who are willing to pay 15$ a month for a game that is the EXACT same thing as 50+ other free mmo's out there, thats their choice. I personally will never pay monthly for any game.
Sigh. You do realize SOMEONE is paying for it still right? Someone is paying for that server (or any servers) that you play on either out of their own pocket or donations from a clan or community! Yeah but you go ahead and keep enjoying your free ride on those servers mmkay!?!?

Ugh. As a former CS 1.6 clan officer who saw all the money that went into paying for the servers, teamspeaks/ventrillos, websites/forums for a community to work well.. this "free" attitude is greatly annoying.

As for WoW's monthly subscription.. it's really no different. 15 bucks a month for constant server connection with upkeep and updates and tech/game support.

Oh and in a later post you mention CS started online fps gaming.. lol no. But it certainly redefined the genre with the tactical fps shooter gameplay it brought. Personally I came from Rainbow 6 and Eagle Watch (old MSN gaming zone which created peer to peer lobbies and lagged like a mofo) online.. yeah.. thats right.. online! Jumped into CS around beta 5 (anyone remember back then before the Aug existed and the M4 was perma-silenced and could zoom as the 2nd function.. good times) and played till COD4 came out. Got tired of NOT being rewarded for getting the drop on someone. 8 hits for 86 damage and similar nonsense annoyed me, it became all twitch gameplay and real tactics have long since fallen by the wayside. Those of you who played before the game went retail will remember the glory days of CS, the community quality fell off after retail.

Anyway.. complaining about the monthly fee of WoW while playing games like CS and COD and BC2 and many others is silly. Just cause you are enjoying the free ride for online play doesnt mean someone else isn't paying.. not only for themselves but YOU too!

(ps. go donate to your favorite server's clan!)

I find that argument to be bleh at that point ur just blaming other things lol. If you want to host a server it comes with a price and that almost applies to any game, actually it does apply to every game. The whole "free" attitude is the face that you aren't forced to pay a monthly fee to play a game and enjoy it, I mean there is the choice to donate and such but that is up to whoever plays.

But on topic for WoW IMO your basically paying for someone to hold your information and "toons" and to be connected with a community where CS 1.6 you don't have to.

Either way you can't compare a FPS to a MMO its like comparing a phone's camera quality to an actual camera quality both have some similar features but made for different purposes.

I'm looking forward to TOR too. For a couple reasons, even though I've never really been drawn to MMOs
  1. I like Sci-Fi more than fantasy. Give me a spaceship instead of an animal to ride any day.
  2. it's bioware, they're going to have a great story driven game i'm hoping. one thing that has always kept me away from MMOs is the promise of endless boring grinding. To me, doing something like that is like watching grass grow.
