Antec 900 mod questions.

Hey guys, its almost time to build my new PC, and since il have to take everything out of my antec 900 i figure its about time to put some extra holes in it for cable management.

im currently running most of the cables through the 2 precut holes, and its not to bad, but i want to cut holes closer to the PSU, and up near the top of the mobo, possible at the top right of the case where the front panel wires are. i have the bit to cut through sheet metal, but im just wondering whats the best thing to use to cover the sharp edges of the holes? should i just buy rubber grommits or would those be too thick and make it hard to run cables across the back? also, has anyone been able to run the 24pin cable through the back and still be able to close the side cover over it?

Have a look at my 900 cable management mod. I used edge molding from mnpctech. It worked well!! http://www.mnpctech.com/UChannel.html

And a link to my page.. http://www.overclock.net/case-mods-g...-paintjob.html

Good luck! Take plenty of pictures!!

I haven't seen anything that good in stores, which is why I ended up buying it online. I would recommend getting 6ft. Just to be safe.

Actually, if you're only doing the small holes, 3ft should be enough. But if you can spare the couple extra bucks, too much is better than too little vs having to buy then wait for more..

Here is my old Antec 900 build log.

http://www.overclock.net/intel-build...-friendly.html

I didn't flip my hard drives as I wanted easier access to them. However it tamed my PC Power and Cooling 750w cables pretty nicely.

man im getting pumped to mod my case what size holes did you make?
and did you find you got better air flow when moving the 2 front fans? right now mine are in the default possition, both on the bottom.

Also, i have a bracket that fits on the back side of one of the HDD cages that i can put another 120mm fan inside the case with, is this a good idea? i dont really see a point, since it will be a 120mm fan on the front of the case, and then a 120mm fan like 5 inchs beind it.

I think I used either an inch or an inch and a half.. Really it only needs to be a little bigger than all of the wires you're going to put through. For the larger holes, like the one that I used for the PSU cables, I used a dremel with some disks angled to give a curved cut. This video should explain better what I mean.
