LAWL!

That's quite a jump. Congrats. For me it was a AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (ClawHammer) ---> a I7 920.

I went from an E7200 to a Xeon X3350 (a quad).

My minimum FPS in Bad Company 2 went up from 10 to at least 25. I don't see myself upgrading this setup for next three years or so (though I might replace the graphics card this year).

Quad-cores, at last, are finally worth it, after many years of seeing games and applications take advantage of no more than two threads at a time.

Possible, the 12v rail hangs at 11.8v idling, and drops down to 11.2v even under load... BAD.

Hmmm - your current CPU is faster / games better in your experience?

A scary truth...unfortunately, I don't think my generic 480w would fear any different :\\. Though I should try - the 12v line is just dropping to low.

How much of a temp increase are you seeing with your new quad over your older processor?

I'm considering getting a q6600 to replace my e6750..
Frick - I've actually seen a decrease :|. This Cpu Idles at 31-33c, and when gaming, gets up to 40+ - as high as 44c. And I'm using the lowly Artic Cooling Freezer 7.
My old CPU (non-stock heatsink, but nothing fancy), would idle at 41-42, and would load at 52c there about!
The only time this CPU gets that hot is during prime95.

The Case I'm using isn't even worth mentioning really, its a normal mid tower by "SP" (super power), has your regular 80mm in / out.
The quad is faster + cooler. Nice.
