[Kotaku] Inspiration for Battlefield 3: Generation Kill, Hurt locker and many others - Page 2

I love how he says console failure in the same sentence. That is usually the words I use to describe it as well

To bad crysis didn't seem to take this route and abandoned their supporters for an extra bit of money.

It really is quite interesting that they are developing this on the PC and porting over to consoles. IMO its not the right move. There is no money to be made in PC games compared to console games. I know I'll get a lot of: "What about Steam?" but if you compare the numbers, console sales are WAY WAY higher than that of Steam.

And to show all these gameplay vid's on a really powerful PC is also setting themselves up for console failure. Everyone knows its not going to look like that on the 360 or PS3. Hell, its not even going to look like that on most people's PC's. Not everyone can afford a $3000 gaming rig.

Wrong move EA / DICE.
Kid's a noob. BC2 on PC outsold both consoles, and that's considering many Battlefield veterans didn't want Bad Company. Sure, the console kiddies are more likely to pay $60 than PC gamers since they just ask their mommy/daddy for some money for a vidya game. It also doesn't take $3,000 to get a PC that can play BF3 smoothly. More like $1,200 including a legitimate copy of Windows 7.
