Can I put a SSD in my Laptop? - Dell Inspiron 2200 circa 2006

Thread Starter
I have a Dell Business Inspiron 2200 laptop that is an absolute workhorse. I use it for word processing and online browsing (no gaming).

The hard drive is really slow, and I was wondering if I could swap in a SSD. Would the laptop even recognize it? I have the A07 BIOS (latest) from 2006.

Thanks.

Take your hdd out and check, but I think most of those inspirons have IDE hdd's. If not then throw an ssd in and enjoy.

If your laptop has an extra mini pcie slot you might be able to install one of these

Not sure if your laptop is capable of booting from a mini pcie drive.

Thanks, reps for everyone.

It's an IDE drive. Darn. I'll check out the mSATA drive.
