Are Viewsonic monitors any good?

Thread Starter
I'm looking at getting a 21.5-22" 1920x1080 monitor, preferably at $160 or less, and I saw this one on TD for $150. I've heard of them a few times, but how are they quality-wise? Looking to play games mostly on this monitor, especially FPSs.

If that's not good, how about this?

They're okay, but that depends how much you'd want to spend on a monitor if we can find you something better.

I'd like to stay under $160, but I could probably go as high as $180.
Like I said in the OP, I'm looking at around 22" and 1080p.

I guess that Viewsonic's alright. I mean, they have been around for long. I wouldnt go with Acer, the one you're looking at is already LED backlit and that Acer one on Newegg is cathode based. I wouldnt buy a cathode backlit LCD monitor unless it were Samsung or (chimei) =P

I like my Viewsonic.

Nice thing about the company - for the first 30 days, they guarantee your display to be pixel-perfect. Any stuck or dead pixels gets you a replacement. Here's the details http://www.viewsonic.com.au/kbase/article.php?id=5

Beats most other manufacturers. AFAIK only Dell has a better policy.

i prefer viewsonic myself over samsung mainly because of the monitor "lottery" that they put you through (this was back in 2004-8) , when you got better quality pannels from factory S, C, A, and everyone had to go for the "S" panels

my viewsonic is still strong after 3 years,

Alright, I've narrowed it down to two choices.
The Viewsonic or this Asus.
Which would you guys choose?
Planning on ordering today, by the way.
