Another stupid question, not meant to insult your intelligence at all but... the database is correctly named
Messages.mdb
?
Just trying to rule out something stupid, Plex said the code looks correct and as long as the working directory contains your class and the database, likely the problem is something stupid. However the fact that the direct path to the DB C:\\.... yielded the same results is odd to say the least.

As far as I can tell it is. I wasn't sure whether I should actually name it "Messages.mdb" including the mdb. Because sometimes when I created the file Access would view it as "Messages.mdb.mdb" but I messed around with a few things... And nothing. I even changed the default settings of Access so it'd create a 2002-2003 file and not a 2007....

Most likely it just means that it tried to open a file that it couldnt find/wasnt there, in this case your Messages.mdb.
Got me scratching my head, based on what you have here it should work.
http://www.codeproject.com/KB/database/jdbcodbc.aspx
Referencing the first part of that page your code is spot on.. hmm..

Do you think it could have anything to do with the actually code and how it's using the database. Like I'm calling up fields that aren't there?

I just tried creating the file again from scratch. And nothing... Maybe it's the DNS settings that were mentioned earlier???

That looks like it might actually. Only when I get through to choosing drivers there isn't a "Microsoft Access Driver" only a SQL Server one... where would I get this Access driver from??
