Is it possible to run gtx460 sli on this psu?

Thread Starter
Hey guys, long time lurker first time poster.

My psu is a cooler master silent pro m 700watt psu

System specs are

i5-760 oc to 3.9ghz
asus gtx460 directcu 1gb
4gb of corsoir 1333 ddr3
msi gd80 p55 mobo

Im gona be buying another 460 soon and sli-ing them. The single 460 at the moment uses both the 6 pin connections from the psu

The psu is sli certified so will I need to use some sort of adapter? 460s use 2x6pin adapters

Thanks for reading

The PSU has the specs to power the cards. I guess CM's definition of being set for SLI is two single-6pin cards... if the PSU didn't come with 'em, you'll have to grab two molex to 6pin PCI-E adapters.
Just need two molex to pci-e 6pin adapter, most gpus should come with two.. i have around 5 laying around my room somewhere.
Just plug them into your molex cable and you will be fine.
That psu has a max output of 840W and 460's are not really that power hungry.
So you should be fine.

*Edit* Dam EfemaN beat me too it lol.

OCing the cards wouldn't use enough power to kill that psu.trust me.If you oc try to get the lowest vcore on your cars to save power,if you can.

You'll be fine. You have plenty of power to spare.

Since you don't have four 6-pin PCIe power connectors, you will use four Molex connectors and two Molex-to-PCIe adapters to provide you with the extra two PCIe connectors you need.
Ain't it not recommended to run a card on just 4-pin molexes to 6-pins, you gotta at least have one 6-pin connector for each card.
