Bought Motherboard off newegg. Asus M4A88T-V EVO

I actually bought New Ram, CPU, And the Mother board.

I installed all of it, using the other stuff that came from my previous build

When I had it all hooked up , it wouldn't post. Couldn't get a boot up or an image. Not sure about beeps bc I forgot to put the speaker on it. The fans did spin and the lights in the MOBO came on

Anyhow, I was gonna RMA both the cpu and the mother board, but when I went to re install my older mother board, I decided to test out the cpu in the older one to rule it out. Sure enough the cpu worked fine in that mother board.

Not sure what is going on here. I am gonna RMA this motherboard because I have done everything I can, I think it just came DOA.

Here are the specs for the build

Asus M4A88T-V EVO
AMD 965 Phenom X2
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9D-8GBRL
750 watt Corsair PSU
ATI 6850

I know the CPU and Mother board are compatible, but not so sure about the ram.

I took the rest of the stuff for this build off my older computer.

any idea's here? Newegg suggested the ram with the mother board. So I figured it was good for it. Sound like a DOA motherboard

Is the HDD you used IDE or SATA?Have you tried one stick of RAM?Do you have a speaker to hook up to the mobo for beeps?Did you check the stand-offs on the new board,no shorts?Did you make sure the 4 or 8 pin CPU power connector is connected? The RAM should work, but you might need to set the timings manually.Either way it should still boot with those particular RAM.Bad mobo's do happen, just might be.

There should never be a need to set timings/speed/voltage manually on generic memory.

Check all of your power connections, CPU, GPU, etc.

I've seen a good amount of threads where people simply forgot power.

Decided to set it up again, this time I didn't forget to put the computer speaker in the plugs...

Got one long beep followed by 2 short beeps.. it would repeat this over and over again.

I think for some reason the mother board will not recognize this ram. I have no idea why it is even claims to be compatible in the manual.

I'm thinking of RMA Both the mother board (in case it is the slots not working properly) and the ram...

I really do hope this does not happen when I get the return mother board...

This is a pain in the ass... Now I probably gotta pay 15-20 dollars just to ship the damn thing back to new egg.

I heard of people buying these things and needing a bios update, but how do I update the bios if the computer will not even post a boot up .

I tried that mem ok feature it didn't do anything. Blinked a few times, and then went back to the same thing. Still no boot up.

I have taken one stick of ram out , put them in different slots. Unfortunately I don't have another ddr3 board to test the ram out.

All I know is it won't post. Now, I am not so sure that this mother board is compatible with this ram. Either way , I am returning both. Guess they will send me a new one, but I almost have a feeling this will happen again.
