Crossfiring 5000 series isn't that great 6000 series is where a large improvement started to emerge to crossfire performance.

If you can find a decent 5870 used I'd jump on it since they are at a nice price range right now, 150-180$ used.

Or 200$ new in some cases.

But as for Crossfiring, generally only see a 50% boost in performance, as long as your selling your card I think buying a 5870 will get you money performance/$ in the end.

I have two 5770s and am very pleased with them. What games are you planning to play? If you want me to maybe I can check frame rates for you under certain settings if I have the game. But i would suggest a second 5770 unless you find a good deal on a 5870.

HD5770s run well in Crossfire. If you find a second at a significantly cheaper price then go for it.
