New TOY LGA1155 2600k PC Build Log =]

Ah, I remember my first computer ever, purchased back in 2000-2001, I remember paying a little over 1500 dollars for it: Compaq Presario 5310US, it was super impressive at 1.2ghz Intel Celeron and a nice hefty 40gigabyte HDD and of course a mighty 256mb of ram =] Yes Computers were super expensive, but none the less I loved that computer til the day it gave up on me in 2005 =[

From then on I've gone through 3 AMD machines and never had an intel again, and now with the new impressive i72600k Sandybridge processor out, I am again going back to Intel =] So I thought I'll post my build up just for fun and perhaps to get more suggestions or ideas around the build.

So far this is what I've already ordered:
Intel X25-M 80Gb SSD
i72600k Sandybridge CPU
GSkill RipJawX DDR3 1333 at CL7-7-7-21 at 1.5v

On Ordered and Shipped(waiting to be arrive) =]
MSI P67A-GD65 (B3) LGA 1155 Motherboard
COOLER MASTER V6 GT RR-V6GT-22PK-R1 120mm DynaLoop CPU Cooler
AZZA Solano 1000 Black/Black Japanese SECC PC Case

Not a bad start_ anyhow I am currently waiting for my other order to come through(Doing this according to what I can afford after bills are paided from my paycheck to paycheck life lol.

So Far I have spent aprox. 900-1000 dollars(Damn shipping cost to Alaska)

Next stop would be to acquire a Sata3 HDD
Power Supply(Debating between 850watt or sticking to a 750watt)
VGA Card-(I have my mind set on the HD6950 flashing it to 6970 bios) or go with a nice Nvidia Geforce Card for PhysX(Can someone suggest a good Nvidia card that can match up to the HD6970 Price/Performance wise)

And of course misc other cool things I plan to look into_
I wanted to water cool just the GPU now is there a full GPU water cooling kit someone can direct me to? Or do I have to set it all up myself, GPU waterblock, Pump, tubings, radiator?

My intention is to build me a nice rigg, Air cooling the CPU with 4.8ghz Overclock and watercooling the GPU Overclocking it as far as I can go.

212+ gets better temps right? I know it is cheaper.

i am building a 2500K and with the v6. it gets pretty good reviews. and just cause the 212 is cheaper doesn't mean it works better or the other way around.

Yeah I went with the v6 too due to its good customer reviews.

Well, my PC Case, Motherboard and the CPU cooler is coming today so I'm looking forward to that =] gonna put everything together and put in my old power supply to test if everything POSTS in to bios_ Since I would hate to find out something isn't working_

Whats a nice reliable 800-850watt PowerSupply?

hey I just installed a V6 and for a first time it was hard to do. make sure to look at the video cause the instructions dont give that good of a pic on how the brackets go. Also be carefull on the ram there is very little clearance under the V6 as it is freaking huge so ram with tall heat sinks might not work out

yeah the V6 is HUGE, holy wow, I was shock to see it being so big, I had to populate ram slot 2&4 instead of 1&3 due to the cooler sitting right above slot 1_ Installation was annoying alrite.

I didn't use the Thermal Paste it came with because I don't know what kind of thermal paste it is? so I use my good ole AS5_

yeah I had bought some AS5 but I think I put way to much and when I get out of work to day I am goin to take it off check for damage and reapply. HOpefully I have soem AS5 left or I wil just use what it came with. because installation sucked so bad I wish I had went with the hyoer 212 for ease and piece of mine. That really was the hardest part of the build.

The V6 is one hell of a cooler, it gives Megahalems a good run for the money.
