Folding@Home multi Gpu setup help?

Thread Starter
So i finally got my GTX 260 and 8800 GTS to both work together. Now i wanted to figure out how to do 2 different clients. The thing is that i want to run it through CMD. Not the actual program. How would i go about doing this? I also heard that you need another monitor for the other video card to work. Should i use GPU2 or GPU3 ? I tried to follow the guide but it wasn't for the CMD folding@home client. Any help? biggrin.gif

Not sure about CMD but there is a console version. I prefer the Systray version though.

Not sure about the CMD part either but definitely use gpu2 instead of gpu3.

You want to use GPU2 for both cards, and you don't need a monitor for the second one, you put a flag in: -forcegpu nvidia_g80. If that doesn't work, then you want to make a dummy plug and put it on the card that doesn't have a monitor. Other than that, you just install one, take the files from the program files and copy them to a new folder and make sure you have the machine ID be different on both programs.

While this is true, it is optional to run the viewer, so it shouldn't take off any points if you don't run the viewer.

by the looks of how much both GPU's have risen it looks like they are both folding. How would i know if they are pushing out more ppd than before?

You can use a monitoring program such as HFM. Links to where it can be downloaded can be found in zodac's guides.

There it is if you're too lazy to look. Another good tool is FahMon, but you only need one of the two. They do the same thing, though.
