mobo allows 3 fans and I want more.

I am running a rear fan, a top fan and a front fan. I would really like to add two more fans to the side panel but my mother board only has 3 ports. How can I do this? Any tips? or suggestions? pc idles at 39c it should be about 29c idling!

You don't even need a fan controller...you can get a 3-pin to 4-pin molex connector and connect it directly to your PSU. That's what I do with all of my fans. I don't have any fans on my motherboard or a fan controller (total of 8 fans)

how? Like rig them? I did think of that the red is 5 volts and the yellow is 12 and the orange is 3.3 so what would I do? Cut the wires and connect them directly?

won't you hurt your mother board if you load it full of those? at least the lower quality ones I've heard you can overload the draw with too many fans running on it.\\

But ya I agree with VW, just hook em all up to your PSU, and if you really want can cut the yellow molex pin and run it to a switch to allow for an on/off, how I have my Fan/Cathodes running.

Like others have stated, just get the molex to fan headers, connect directly to power supply. You shouldnt load your mobo with many fans, I dont know the details for how much the mobo headers can handle, but I wouldnt expect too much.

Alternatively, if you plan on having a lot of fans, you could go with a fan controller.
