HT Link matching memory speed = better performance. Possible?

Thread Starter
So the HyperTransport link was meant to eliminate the FSB & bottleneck between CPU & rest of system, and HyperTransport Link itself between CPU & RAM is fast enough to never bottleneck RAM which is why overclocking HT link is normally useless.

Now comes the tricky logic...
We overclock the NB to gain performance and memory bandwidth. This has to do with the processing inside the chip, i.e. the integrated memory controller and L3 cache.
We never overclock the HT link,
But how bout underclocking (or overclocking, or whatever) the HT link to match and sync to the RAM speed?
i.e. 1600Mhz RAM, 1600Mhz HT link (rather than 1600, 2000)
I doubt this would do anything to RAM stability or performance, but if I'm right, it could potentially improve latency times further by being synced in the same way as RAM-FSB sync.

What do you guys think? Would this be possible? I'm considering running some tests soon to find out.

Do it. I'll look forward to the results.

I'll have to play with the CPU clocks a bit... at this ref clock I can't get sync HT link
This means I also gotta reduce NB clock too though... there go my benchmark results I already have and can compare to

is better if you just run it with your NB freq.
this was my daily setting after i sold my 555, with cool and quiet on.

I never looked at it that way but it makes sense please post as soon as you test.

I still have a question that has never got answered in the interleaving settings---- what do you know about address bits 6~xor of address bits 20:16,9 and what do they really do?

I am pretty much stable but never can run prime95 or Occt without crashing but every game and well just everything runs great, even benchmarks, 3dmark(all), Heaven, Furmark, take your pick they all are fine.

But prime95 and Occt will not finish (bsod) I guess I shouldn't care because everything else runs great but I just want to complete all tests at my level of overclocking so I know it is running perfect!

Seems like sound logic, I look forward to seeing your results!
