yes it is a great router....the model of my wireless card is DWA-547....my router is just laying normal flat like in the picture

Have you updated the firmware on the router? I would also try standing the router up on its side to see if that helps any. Also do you have any cordless phones that are close to the router/wireless card? If so temporarily unplug them and see if the signal strength improves.

I use the wireless adapter in link #1 and several of the antennas in link #2 but there are others. As long as you can grab at least the 7dbi or 9dbi you should be good.

I bought an Alfa from Data Alliance. Good range, does packet injection, compatible in Windows and Linux. Every once in a while I get a USB error; could be that the dual-USB isn't drawing enough power from the front panel?
I've also had my eye on a Rosewill. Reviews look good but I haven't tried it yet.
