Non Reference 6950 1GB voltage control

Hi Everyone

I am try to max OC my Gigabyte Radeon HD 6950 1GB (GV-R695OC-1GD) but the highest I can go without crashing is 930/1450 (combination CCC and Afterburner).

The problem is that it uses a non-reference design and nothing in existence seems to be able to control the voltage (tried, Trixx, Afterburner, RBE etc).

Anyone have any ideas or is it not worh it (this uses the Windforce 3x cooler and i get around 35 deg C idle with around 24 ambient)?|

If it doesn't have voltage control it doesn't. The most radical idea would to be try flashing it with a different bios and see what happens but that probably has a good chance to brick your card.

No voltage control on that card. I wouldn't recomend flashing the bios. It has a custom PCB I think, so not likely to be successful and as Markisa has said likely end result will be a card that doesn't work.

So apart from the card doesn't have a lot of additonal overclocking headroom, are the fans very quiet?

Has anyone succeeded in unlocking the shaders? Two guys on the russian forums were able to do it.

GV-R695OC-1GD - Successfully unlocked shaders using GPU-z to extract bios, RBE_128.exe to edit, and ATIFlash.ex v3.8 to flash.

Looks stable.

Still looking for voltage control.

It's a non-reference design and has no software voltage control. The only way to alter the stock voltage is by hard modding.
