Thanks, haha. And I already made a rant about Microcenter today. I called them when I woke up and asked if they had any Asus p67 boards, she said they have one in stock. When I went to checkout someone had gotten to it before me.

Now the guy working at the register gave me a 2600 instead of a 2600k. Bad luck today I suppose.

What this thread has to do with bacon is to remain a myth.

I do however, hope that you'll get your hands on a 2600k..

I was scared about this same situation when I bought mine. I double checked they gave me the "K" since it could be very easily overlooked. Good thing you got the correct one now

Use the 'Ready in 18' reservation feature on the website. They will pull the item and save it for you, then send you a confirmation email when it is ready. Or, if it is already sold, tell you it is unavailable. You will need a CC, however, but it saves a wasted trip.

Anyway, I see the 2600K for $298.89 (including tax) at my local MC.

Absolute bs if they don't accept it back. They might argue that you could have bought a 2600 and 2600k and are using the 2600k receipt to trade the 2600 for another 2600k. If they give you problems I'd demand them to look over their surveillance footage. I'd only hope that they have surveillance at the counter.

Microcenter is supposed to have the 2600k on sale for $280+tax now. Some people have had luck getting a refund of the difference if you purchased recently.

~Resolved, I went back and they gave me my 2600k with no issues.
Yes, MC is also great about returns/refunds. I have only had to return two items, a CPU and a soundcard, and they gave me a full refund both times.
