Depend how much you're getting back.

I rather add a second 6870 than upgrading to a 6950/70. They scale the same and the 6870 isn't that far from the 6950. If you can upgrade to a 6950 for $50 after selling your 6870 then I say do it.

Ask yourself what do you want to achieve with your computer?
latest game at highest graphics level? folding ? performance in benchmark ?

My opinion is : if your computer performs well in any game you play, why would you upgrade?

Look at this comparison http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/301?vs=293 and decide if it's worth the extra $100. Though getting the 69xx will give you headroom for future upgrade. Most importantly you need to ask yourself, "do you want it? or do you need it?". If you game a lot and need the extra power then purchase the 69xx for an extra $100 or CF your 6870 if you can find a good deal for $150ish.

Not worth upgrading for $100 more. Best suggestion given is to crossfire another 6870.
