the ASUS M4A79XTD EVO should be fine with it
h70 is a great cooling system

what are you looking to do?

Wel I'm always looking for improvements.
So i thougt maybe a new Mobo
And the h70 was a gift out of heaven, much better then my old air cooler.

But if you have other suggestions for impoving my system, then i'm al ears

your next upgrade should be a better gpu, or another 5770 if you can get one cheap
post #5 of 11
Best would be the Crosshair IV Extreme/Formula, but I'm not sure you'll get much further than 4.2Ghz with Thuban - that's already an impressive OC!

Dude you have a few options for upgrades.

Motherboard-if you wanna run crossfire setup may be woth updating to a ROG Extreme Mobo for the extra x16 PCIE lanes <--might be wrong i dunno the specs on your current but i imagine x8,x4??

Powersupply-If you going to crossfire or whatever and you have a OC that high may need to upgrade.

Graphics-Wait for a new 6990 maybe or grab another card for crossfire

Heeey Jump3er, i now have:2 x PCIe 2.0 x16 , support ATI CrossFireXâ„¢ technology (at one x16 or dual x8 link)
2 x PCIe x1
2 x PCI 2.2.

And the 6990, sounds very interesting. maybe that wil be an excelent option.
Heard that the psu from antec are great, wil look at that.: )
Thanks for your reaction.

Just noticed your sig rig and I don't think another MoBo is really gonna help you unless I misunderstood your posts. You are already at the limit of 4.2GHz at 1.6v, that is over the safe limit as far as volts are concerned for 24/7 although I've seen some people say it is safe for water based cooling.
