ASUS P8P67 LE or Pro (2500k @ 5GHz)

Thread Starter
Hallow!

I'd like to place an order today on a new 2500k and a motherboard.
But im not sure which motherboard to pick.

The P8P67 LE or PRO (both are B3)?

When i get it i'd like to OC the 2500k to 5 GHz

As far as ive read on forums both of the motherboards should be able to run a 2500k at 5 GHz And both supports CF/SLI which is pretty much all i need (i think ?)

Hope someone can help me decide, cant wait till i get all the new toys devil-smiley-019.gif

The LE (Lite Edition) doesn't support crossfire or sli as it only has one pci-e x16 slot. The vrm is also dangerously low for overclocking (4 phase).

The pro however, is an excellent board that both supports crossfire/sli and has great power management to aid you in your overclocking adventures. I highly highly suggest a Pro over a LE.

Thanks, good thing i didnt order the LE then.
On my local dealers site it says it has CF/SLI :s Must be a mistake.

Are the one you have better? The MSI P67A-GD65. Its also in stock.

The GD65 is supposed to be an excellent board and is currently MSI's top board until the Marshall is released. I can't tell you personally though, as I just ordered mine less than 24 hours ago. Should get it by friday.

I notice the P8P67 LE is the only Asus 1155 board with IDE support.

I read the LE doesn't even have precise cpu voltage control and limited turbo overclocks. It's as crippled as a sub $60 775 board. I don't think asus has screwed people that badly before. It's best to pretend the LE doesn't exist.
