they are patching the demo because they CARE! even though they don't gain any money from creating a demo or patching it, they care about the experience taht their potential customer get.
Clearly they care. They care about covering up the mess they made and trying to convince the hundreds or more people that canceled their preorders to reconsider. Sorry, but if the demo is any indication of 90% of Crysis 2's potential, I'd rather spend my money elsewhere.

The value of Crysis 1 came in its visuals and its crazy hardware scalability. It was novel, which gave it credibility. Crysis 2 will probably be "good," but it lacks that novelty, that pull. Crytek left behind their bread and butter to try and ride the Crysis 1 momentum wave into success as a direct CoD/Halo competitor. Sorry, not happening.

i think that crytek originally developed the demo for xbox 360, but then they get complains that they favor one platform, so they port the 360 version straight to pc. then pc people complain about port. now they decide to please ps3 people. then i bet they'll get complain that they leave the ps3 last.
the complain will continue.
I have actually considered this scenario several times myself (demo alone being a console port), but it doesn't make sense. Consider the time line of the game development, Crytek's lack of history with consoles (and consoles' massive development demand), and the lack of "oh don't you worry PC gamers" feedback from Crytek after the uprising after the demo release.

There was never even going to be a PC demo in the first place until EA made the decision to allow it do to the whining PC players. So of course its going to be a port.

Dont get me wrong i hate consoles havent played one besides my 64 for years but it saddens me to see how low the pc community has come.

hahahaha

You made me laugh there.

So, it's the PC gamers community's fault Crytek an EA handled this situation miserably ?

The PC community made Crytek what it is now. Far Cry, Crysis and Crysis Warhead are all PC games and are what gave them recognition. How much more credit can a game developer get from only 3 games ?

They should be thanking us, not releasing a Demo for the Xbox 360 first.

They released a Demo for Crysis, the big tech demonstration of Cry Engine 2. Now they have Cry Engine 3 and don't show a single bit of appreciation ?

It's their fault they didn't see the backlash releasing a Xbox 360 demo would have, which would in turn force them to release a Demo for the PC.

Only a narrow-minded developer doesn't forsee this coming.

They might have very good, talented and innovative programmers, but they showed the world they don't understand one iota of marketing.

Well good thing they did because if not everyone would have been even more angry at them for making them waste $60. Sorry, I don't have that kind of money just lying around to spend on a whim because a game developer made a good game previously.

I don't see how the PC community is low. It's called we have standards. This may be something lacking in the console community but to see a game that is revered for the best graphics for quite a long time and then make this, it is just sad.
