I need a new digital camera

Thread Starter
Well, my Canon PowerShot A590 finally croaked. The piece of **** started giving me issues a month after the warranty ran out and it only managed to last a bit over two years. I barely used the ******* thing. Anyway. I need a new camera now. Go any suggestions? Below $200, please. Preferably, a non Canon one. Thanks.

What do you use it for? If you want a nice compact digital camera get the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS7. It takes amazin pictures and has a crazy 12x zoom. Its on sale for 199 @ amazon.com Look at some of the user submitted pics. Its a great camera. Ive had it about 6 months and no problems. My only complaint is that its not the best for super low light.

The DMC-ZS7 would be one of my suggestions as well. There's also the Lumix DMC-ZS5, which is a cut down version of the ZS7 without GPS and with an LCD with lower pixel count, and the Sony DMC-H55 I have in my sig.

well i realize you say sub-200 but i picked up a D3000 for $210 here in Houston off of Craigslist.

under 200 has many choices, good ones in fact

Nikon L100

Nikon S1000PJ Projector model

Nikon S6000 w/ ED glass!!

Fujifilm Finepix F300EXR

FujifilmZ800EXR

hope this helps you choose...i own an L110 and the more expensive P7000 from Nikon as well as a D90 with lotsa glass! the L110 has been the best personal backup i have behind the P7000 which is twice as expensive
