Haha clearly your friend doesn't adjust well to whatever mechanical keyboard he owns.
There is a reason why brands like Steelseries, Razer, and Zowie are all migrating towards high end mx brown/mx black mechanical keyboards. They pretty much rock. Between browns and blacks I would be willing to bet most people can adjust in a matter of hours/days.
I hung up my logitech elite and my lycosa permanently the first time I tried a steelseries 6gv2 and its only gotten better since i switch to a keyboard w/ browns.
On the otherhand, I never really adjusted to playing an FPS game on my old ABS M1, I would rather use a rubber dome over that thing for gaming.
To put things into perspective, i pretty much only play cs 1.6 and the occasional cod w/ cs friends that want a quick change of pace, i would consider myself above average in terms of experience in both games and can say truly switching to a mech keyboard was the best.
My buddy is currently esea main in cs 1.6 (not really saying much anymore these days =\\) and used to play (cevo main/cal-p) prior to college and even though he really only just messes around now, he got a 6gv2 and said it was the best thing he ever bought.
