help rewiring power cords

hey guys im currently working on an xbox laptop project well actually two of them the guy im making the second one for wants a laptop integrated into it as well now my question is can i solder the power cord for the laptop into the power for the xbox. I know you can run a monitor power this way as seen here

but im wondering if ill overload anything or if there would be anything special i would have to do

power for the xbox? At what stage?

If you're simply talking about integrating the two mains wires into one, then it shouldn't be a problem.

ya basicly ill be soldering the main wires onto the contact points they will be direct contacts to the ac imput for the xbox i just wasnt sure if running a monitor and main board off of those contacts would hurt anything

Not if there's plenty of material there, and you're not trying to pass several amps through a 16 gauge wire.

ok thanks i just wanted to make sure i wouldnt overvolt anything by doing it basicly ill be running 3 set ups through one power cord ill look at the cord im considering making a new one out of thicker gauge wire depending on how thick it is
