Graphics freeze when playing games

Thread Starter
Hey , first off I really didn't know where to post this so I'm sorry if I'm at the wrong place. Anyway I'm having a weird problem with some games (World of Warcraft and Leagus of Legends mainly) which is - I'm getting random screen freezes during gameplay after which the graphics are all messed up. I'm not sure if the whole PC freezes because I can still hear the music at the background playing but nothing is responding .Somehow when I alt+tab to the desktop and then switch back to the game it's fixed, but then after a while it happens again. The freezes are at an average of 15-20 secs and are completely random (can be right after I start the game or after some hours of playing). I was hoping you guys could give me some suggestions because I really don't know what is causing this problem or how to fix it. Thanks in advance.

Try reinstalling the latest driver for your card. If that fails, try running a RAM test.

Already tried reinstalling drivers and checked if my video card was overheating, no result though. What is a RAM test ?

Mine does that if I have my graphics card overclocked and it isn't absolutely 100% stable. The graphics will freeze, the music will still play, and when the card "reinitializes" I guess, the game has progressed as if nothing happened. Very annoying when playing a driving game. Sometimes the oc won't be stable even if your temps are good. That's where voltage comes in, just like with a cpu. If you're not OCing then I'm not sure what the trouble is.

I'll do one later. What could be the problem with RAM btw? Just curious.
