have you tried using that other PCIe bus?
*from the sounds of it, it seems like it might be his PCIe bus, but for two bus's to go bad it would have to be a connection failure on the motherboard.. Not sure how that could occur unless you stabbed your motherboard with a screw driver, ESD, or you spilled some **** in there. Careless Thermal paste application..
But still it's a sudden thing it was running fine, and now it's retarded all of a sudden... Strange.

Why would you guess the CPU? Whats your backing for that diagnosis?

It's either the mobo, or the CPU. And from my experience, motherboards more frequently die completely, than display bsods.

OP, try running Prime95 and see if it crashes.

Its crashing without running prime 95 so what would that accomplish?

Your going to be stuck troubleshooting this the old fashion way... part by part testing things until a part is added that causes the issue. At that point try a different part in the same slot on the mobo to confirm part or mobo issue... barring that, the psu could be playing out, which, under load, could cause troubles. I would focus first on PCI devices... sound cards and whatnot, then look at memory sticks... baring that swap in a different psu...

My guess is motherboard although it is only that. Can you RMA the board? Is it still under warranty? Otherwise you buy a cheap board and see what happens.
