hey guys,

Recently, I bought a XFX HD5850 Black Edition.
But I'm experiencing several problems with it:
first of all: I can't overclock my GPU!
2nd: using MSI afterburner; unable to put the slider further to the right...

Can anyone help me with this problem?
A lot of thanks in advance.

grtz, IT07

try sapphire trixx, see if it works out for you. keep the fan profile to a static number, my 5850 stutters in some games when I set the custom fan profile.
Bye AMD :(

after that you'll need to access your afterburner CFG file (open with notepad) and alter: EnableUnofficialOverclocking = 0, to: EnableUnofficialOverclocking= 1, as this will allow you to up your clocks past ccc limits, and apply additional voltage etc... as needed, but be very, very careful when doing so for obv reasons .

even after all of that, afterburner can be quite buggy, and the best ways i've found to deal with this is to simply close it out and re-open as many times until your profile settings all stick/mesh. i know that's a bit vague, but until you play around with it a bit and get used to how it works... you'll see.
make sure you did all this.
