127 Degrees???

Thread Starter
OS: Win 7 64bit
Graphics Card: ATI radeon HD 5850

So this has been happening for a while and I have been ignoring it... Every once in a while my card's fans will go into overdrive and sometimes after this happens my computer will shut itself down. When I go into my ATI control panel it reads as 127 Degrees.

I don't honestly think its running hot, however any idea's of why this is happening anyone?

Just open your case, touch the GPU. If it's blazing hot - it is actually running that hot lol

have you cleaned out the heatsink? my house had cats for 2 years and is generally dusty. would clog up the heatfins on my reference 5850 pretty good, but 127C? never lol. your card should not work if its made it up to 127c...

Like I said it lying, its some sort of glitch somewhere. No its clean as hell and I have checked the temp with my hands, nada, its fine, it just likes to run loud and turn itself off from time to time, most of the time its fine.

I hope you're talking about 127F, not 127C. If it is at 127C... I have no clue how it hasn't fired yet. . Thats way too hot!!! You should rma it.

Dude, it a level beyond hot. I belive the max safe temp for a 5850 is 90c... 127c-90c=37c hotter than it should be running.

Its NOT hot though...It just says it is, and it only runs like this once or twice a day, any other time it runs at 30C-35C, which is the most of the time.

What I am saying is CCC is reading it wrong, I've touched it and it is a normal temp at the times its been running in overdrive.
