10399 score, 19 w/u's done.

Am folding on the old @$$ server, which gets like 900 points every 3 days or so, honestly im gunna think about cutting it off because it isnt worth the wattage (250 sustained)

Am folding on my dell laptop, 4gb ram, Core2Duo @ 2.0ghz, gets a couple thousand a day.

And, am folding on my main rig which has 2 clients, the oc'd 5830 which puts out 2k-3k ppd (seems a lil low, but it is old) and the smp client on the oc'd i7930...

I had to unclock it down to 4.0ghz from 4.2, the temps were too high in the case I modded, and now it runs at a nice 67 degrees. That client was doing about 5k ppd...

BUTTT, since I realized that I had done more then 10 w/u's yesterday (I was up to 14), I started a bigadv, and SHOULD be getting 27k ppd..

But, my bigadv client is only doing 36:31 tpf...Last night it was doing 11:20.. so idk whats going on there. I DID run the permission script, so the gpu client shouldnt be messing with it...

I wouldnt bother running the GPU client if you are running bigadv. bigadv is much much more sensitive to other programs snatching cpu cylces than regular smp.

Finrod, I agree with you 100% about -bigadv being more sensitive to having other programs running but I was certainly taken to task when I presented my policy of not doing anything else with the rig while I am working a -bigadv WU. It is popular to promote that you do not need to modify the way and amount you use the rig you are working a -bigadv WU but my pratical experience does not support this concept.I say at least try the policy of not running other apps while working a -bigadv, make note of performance issues, then see what you can fit in.

For me 67C is not a bad temp for doing what we are talking about but it is out of my "nice" range.

Especially with an ATI card folding. I would be willing to bet youd get more PPD out of just the cpu then both together, especially with bigadv.

Also, it would certainly be way more power effecient, even if you only break even / slightly less PPD.
