No, not really. The XArmor and Razer are modifications of the same design from the same manufacturer.

It doesn't exist anymore. You could use it on their online store, but they closed the online store and shifted all sales to Amazon, and the codes no longer work.

So it all comes down to NKRO vs Macro keys? Or is there something I'm missing? I have started to learn how to program/hack, but I only use two fingers to type (I know it's bad, I'm gonna try to switch to all my fingers), so would the NKRO even benefit me in any way? Also the macro isn't super important to me, so I still have now idea which one to go with, but it's definitely the XArmor vs the Razer at this point.

it comes down to preference. I wanted high-KRO and media keys. Couldn't find that on a mech for a reasonable price so I got an open box sidewinder x4 for 20$. Couldn't be happier.

I'm doubtful that the macro keys on the Razer would work on linux. Don't they need a driver? Or was that just to program them, then they don't need it afterwords?

If you throw out the macro keys, I would recommend looking at the Deck keyboards. Ice tactile sounds just like what you're looking for. They have a much higher level of build quality then the Razer or Xarmor, and feel nice and sturdy.

The BW's macro keys are supposedly stored on-keyboard in NAND. I'm surprised they didn't advertise this more. Of course I could be wrong and misheard.

I looked it up on Razer's site:

Q. Do I need software drivers to use the Razer BlackWidow?
A. You may use the standard keyboard functions by simply plugging the Razer BlackWidow to any available USB port on your computer. However, you will need to download the software and drivers in order to enable advanced features such as macro recording and profile settings.
I take that to mean you have to have the driver installed to program the macro keys, but once they are programmed you can put the keyboard on another PC without the driver and they will still work. I had a mouse that worked like that.

Ok, so I just sent off my g19, and will be purchasing the keyboard very soon, but still am unsure . I Like both, although I'm leaning towards the Xarmor, and I'm not even sure why. The only thing I don't like about the Razer is the fact that it's got a very glossy finish, and would get fingerprints on it a lot, but at the same time, it is $30 cheaper than the Xarmor. But I Also like some of the features on the Xarmor, like the interchangeable keys, and after reading about it, the ps/2 interface. But still not sure which one to buy, but I need a dissension soon, very soon. what do you guys think, either from someone who has owned neither, of someone who has owned both, I don't want bias answers?
