Core i5 2500k vs. AMD 1090T vs. Core i5 760 - Page 14

I got my i5 2500k for $170 in store at MicroCenter

Almost went for the 1090T at the time because of the whole Sandy Bridge fiasco but I was able to scoop up the MSI mobo from Directron.

I haven't used the 1090 but i will say the 2500k is very very very fast for the price. I think my sister will be upgrading to Bulldozer so we'll see how that goes.

My whole build was less than $1000. Presidents day weekend got me discounts left and right. Only took me 2 weeks to scavange for the parts. Well worth it

Software won't use AES or AVX for awhile.
A mid end board for SB is $150,more feature packed ones are a lot more expensive. Higher end AMD boards are $150 and up,the best AM3 board is $200.

Everything I said was true - One SB core is much more effective than one 1090T core. In addition, they DO perform similarly when gaming, so where don't you agree with me?

Yes, compare top board to top board, the Intel one is always more expensive.
I wish I would have went for a Asus, there is a BIOS update for possible AM3+ support. Dx
