Depending on what he does,or what games and what resolution & settings are some deciding factors.
Why is it better? "Because it's Intel."
But what makes so much better? "Because it's Intel!"

Woe...just wow. How can you even compare the two, they're two COMPLETELY different architectures,at different die sizes.
Fanboyism at it's best.
depends on what you're idea of "ideal" on a budget is. The 2500k as it stands right now is priced 30 dollars more than the 1090t, to me that's not really a great deal when you can spend 30 dollars more and get yourself a nice clocking chip. Is it really that much to spend 30 dollars more? if it is to some then you should not be spending that money to upgrade rather spend it something else that are NEEDS not WANTS. Just sayin.

Like my buddy needs a better gpu over the second fastest cpu out right now. the 1090t will be more than fast for what he does. seriously though i thank you. you are only the 2nd person out of like 30 who didnt put words in my mouth or didnt make things up.
Actually you did point out that your friend bought a H50. You could have picked up a 2500K and used a stock cooler to overclock to 4.4GHz+ and you would have saved money for your friend and bought a better video card with the Intel setup.

Now I'm not saying 1090T is slow but 2500k is a much better choice and thats a fact.

I get what you're saying, the CPU is only $30 more it is more wise to spend the extra $30 on the 2500K. Though in the end,the Intel ends up more expensive after you buy the mobo (sufficient to OC a K CPU) and ram.
