Asus model, or Gigabyte

Well, tbh 560s will chew through most games, even at that res. It's just the heavy hitters (Crysis, Metro etc) that would probably bring them to their knees. If that is a big concern though, you might want to consider picking up two 2GB 6950s and unlocking them. The price would be about the same or even a little less than buying two 2GB 560s and you'd get performance almost equal to GTX 580s in SLI.

I don't know offhand which models unlock offhand, but I'm sure the posters in the ATI section could help out.

I think if you are okay getting SLI 560s right out of the gate then I think the 2GB palits would handle your surround pretty well in all but the most demanding titles, dual 560s are no slouch in processing power. In my mind the only alternative that would offer the performance you are looking for would be the 2GB 6950/70 because I don't believe there is a 2.6GB 570 available and I don't think SLI 570 with only 1.28GB would be what you are looking for.

The only other 2GB 560 I have heard rumor of is the Gainward 560 Phantom 2GB but I have no idea if it will be available in the states or any time soon. I don't think you would be unhappy with the performance you would get out of SLI Palit 560 2GBs as long as you know that if you want to do any serious overclocking, which the 560s like and scale well with, then you would need some form of VRM heatsink for them.

Gainward is owned by Palit.

MSI doesn't make a 2GB 560 and he would definitely be VRAM limited in his triple monitor set-up with just 1GB of VRAM "overclocked to 570s" or not.

I'd go with the Gigabyte SOC one. Or MSI, or Asus.

If you don't game at more than 1920x1200 res, 2gb cards won't do you any good.

He has a multimonitor setup that he would hate to go without, it doesn't look like 1GB cards will be sufficient for him, I don't know why so many are recommending them.
