I built a computer recently with the following parts :

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814162074

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231314

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817371016

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115067

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128457

I can not even get to 3.2 so far. I am new to i5 overclocking. This motherboard does not have a PPL setting.

This is what Im working with:

If you go here you can see more pics of the bios: http://www.overclockers.com/forums/s....php?p=6694241

Id like to get to 3.6 if possible. Any help would be appriciated

Can we have a bit more info on the crashing part? Which stage does it crash at? does it boot at all? does it boot in safe mode?

Talk us through exactly what happens.

Like BSODs or the whole computer being off? If you're getting BSODs, can you provide the STOP code?

I believe I solved my issue ... The bus and mulitplier were set to 160 X 18 = 2.8 so it was at the right clock speed but the bus and multi were wrong. It is supposed to be at 133 x 21 = 2.8. I set it properly and now it works. Dont know why it was set like that in the first place though. Thanks for trying to help PPl!

Goodo, usually on new mobos they sometimes do not set correctly and have to be set to "optimised settings" manually.

Glad its sorted!

I actually left my multiplier at 21 (I think that's the max) and raised my FSB along with my vcore. I was using an i5 650 so I don't have the unlocked multiplier.

You should be able to get to 3.6 with just about any motherboard since it really isn't very high. The first time I ever overclocked my CPU I went from 3.2 to 4.2. My PLL voltages and a few other things were randomly increased whenever I felt necessary (guessed) but I did get to 4.2 with under 1.4v.
