Such a bad set up...

Let me start off by saying I am using an XLR8 8800gt graphics card, with no on board video. So I don't currently have a Monitor per say that I use constantly, mostly I hook into an older TV with a Serial connection and from time to time use a 15" CRT monitor. Well I had them both hooked up today and my sister changed the resolution settings of both to something that they did not support, and I suspect set the number 2 monitor as the main... Needless to say this really screwed with me... I have no display what so ever and nothing I have tried so far has helped. I need help... I've tried running blind five or six times with no avail. I have the keystrokes memorized at this point. I can watch the whole boot, but as soon as windows starts up I'm screwed... Can't start into safe mode because it doesn't support the card, and have no on board video. I don't know what to do. Open to any suggestions anyone might have.

What do you mean it doesn't support the card? Safe mode doesn't load any unnecessary drivers, so the NVIDIA ForceWare drivers wouldn't be loaded. Safe mode should still boot and work fine for you..

pull out the video card and wait a few minutes. then put it back in... It should reset to default setting and there you go.

Thanks, but that didn't work. Was actually the first thing I did. I'm guess I'm just going to have to wait to get a new monitor and hope the new one supports the resolution. It's about my last option. I got into a fury and tried just about everything I could think of. I pulled the card, I reset CMOS. I even went as far as to toss a windows disk in and try to repair windows, to no avail.

Right, the drivers for the card are not loaded because safe mode does not load unnecessary drivers... The Nvidia driver being one of them and I do not have on board video. What I ended up having to do is swap a friends Nvidia 8600+ into my system, with the 8800 as a secondary card, change the settings on the 8800 and then remove the 8600 and leave the 8800 where it was. If I move it back up to the primary slot it will give me the same trouble it was... -Sighs.- At least it's fixed for now. Thanks to everyone who gave their suggestions. Guess this gives me an excuse to run an SLI set up. Now where to get another 8800 card.... -Laughs.-

Ha ha. I'm told I'm not allowed to play by Turkish rules, but thanks for the suggestion. I'll keep it in mind next time.
