Suggestions for SB upgrade?

Thread Starter
Planning on upgrading my rig this week to sandy bridge.

Heres what I have in mind so far.

OCZ B-Stock Refurb ModXStream 500W $38.49

G.SKILL Ripjaws X $43.88

Gigabyte Radeon HD 6850 $173.23

Gigabyte H67MA-D2H-B3 mATX LGA1155 H67 $96.59

Intel Core i5 2500K $223.76

Total: $575.95

Now, this is pretty much my budget for the upgrade, but I'm wondering If there is anything better for the money or something I should steer away from (like the psu maybe?)

I appreciate any suggestions

Do not go with that psu, get yourself a nice psu to power your components.

Also if your going to overclock the proc you need to get a P67 board not H67

Are you planning on overclocking?

Please do me a big favor and dont buy a OCZ powersupply. I have had two crap out on customer builds. Spend a few more dollars and get a corsair.

CORSAIR Builder Series CMPSU-500CX 500W - 44.00 after rebate

Sure you can get a similar price at NCIX is you cant order from newegg.

Alright the ocz psu is out. That corsair 500w is $10 more on newegg.ca :/
And I think the H67s will overclock. I was looking in the manual for that board and the options are there. Also I read here that they will, it just depends on the manufacturer.

I'm interested to see a definitive answer because I've only seen speculation so far. Free bump.

+1 for dumping the refurb PSU. I don't know from experience, but I have read that a cheap PSU can damage your other components if/when it goes out. That would be a much more expensive fix then just putting a little bit more into a decent PSU to start with.
Thank You OCN!
